Number of Covid recoveries goes past 25 lakh in India
NEW DELHI: India recorded the highest ever single day spike with 75,760 new cases of Covid-19 detected on Wednesday, while more than 1000 deaths for the second consecutive day resulted in total death toll due to the disease crossing 60,000 mark.
However, increased daily tests at 9,24,998, kept the positivity rate under check at 8.1% and rising number of cases helped the fatality rate remain at around 1.8%.

With more patients recovering and being discharged from hospitals and home isolation, total COVIDovid-19 recoveries have crossed 25 lakh, though almost a quarter of the total cases are still active cases.
States like Maharashtra, Karnataka, Uttar Pradesh continue to be among the high burden states. However, Uttar Pradesh is conducting far more tests on a daily basis as compared to other high burden states.
The total cases in the country currently stand at 33,10,234. Of this, active cases are 7,25,991.
